Ingredientes

  • 2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1 x Onion, minced
  • 250 gm Basmati rice, soaked if wished (8oz)
  • 1 x Cinnamon stick
  • 2 x Cloves
  • 1 x Bay leaf, crumbled
  • 125 gm Cashew nuts, (4 ounce)
  • 50 gm Sultanas, (2oz)
  • 450 ml Water, about ( 3/4pint)
  • 1 tsp Salt

Direcciones

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium-low heat and cook the onion for about 5 min, till soft.
  2. Add in the liquid removed rice, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, cashew nuts and sultanas, and stir-fry for 2 min over a medium heat.
  3. Add in the water to the pan with the salt. Cover tightly, turn the heat to low and simmer for 20 min, or possibly till all the water has been absorbed and the rice is tender and fluffy, adding a little extra water during cooking, if necessary.
