Ingredientes

  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • Bananas, cut into 1" chunks
  • Cauliflower, separated into flowerets
  • Eggplant, cut into finger size strips
  • Onion rings
  • 1 quart. (about) corn oil

Direcciones

  1. Sift together flour, baking pwdr and salt. Mix together egg, lowfat milk and 1/4 cup of the corn oil, add in to dry ingredients, beating till smooth. Thoroughly dry fruit or possibly vegetables; dust with flour, then shake off excess. Dip into batter; drain on wire rack over waxed paper. Pour corn oil into heavy, sturdy, flat-bottomed 3 qt saucepan or possibly deep fryer, filling utensil no more than 1/3 full. Heat over medium heat o 375 degrees. Fry prepared food in hot corn oil, a couple at a time, till golden. Drain on absorbent paper; season and serve. Makes 1 2/3 cups batter or possibly sufficient to coat 8 to 9 cups prepared fruit or possibly vegetables.
