Batter Dipped Poppy Seed Crabs

Ingredientes

  • 1 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 c. Blue cornmeal
  • 3 Tbsp. Poppy seeds
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. Unsalted butter
  • 8 sm Soft-shell crabs Margarita Jalapeno Salsa (see index)

Direcciones

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking pwdr and salt; stir in cornmeal and poppy seeds. In another bowl, lightly beat Large eggs; blend in lowfat milk, then combine lowfat milk mix with dry ingredients and stir till well blended. Add in a little more lowfat milk, if necessary, to make a smooth bater which will cling to crabs. Heat butter in a large, shallow skillet over medium heat. Dip crabs in batter to coat; add in to skillet and cook till golden on both sides, turning once. Serve with salsa.
