- Method1. Heat the fat fry onion celery and carrot till soft.
- Mix together flour gravy pwdr and seasoning. Add in meat and toss to cover proportionately.
- Place tomatoes in pan with bayleaf herbs and sugar. Bring to the boil add in fried vegetables and meat heat thoroughly. Place in casserole dish.
- Cook in oven till meat is tender for 11 1/2 hrs.
- To make scones: place flour salt and herbs into a bowl. Rub in margarine till the mix resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add in lowfat milk all at once and mix well till it forms a dough. Roll dough onto a floured surface till l/2in/lcm thick and cut with a 2in/Scm plain cutter making 12 scones.
- When the meat is tender remove from oven arrange scones in an overlapping circle around edge of dish.
- Return to oven for 30 min or possibly till scones are well risen and golden.
- Serve cobbler with potatoes rice or possibly green vegetables.servings: 4
