Ingredientes

  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour plus
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/3 c. flat beer Vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 x catfish fillets - (4 to 6 ounce ea)
  • 2 c. purchased coleslaw mix
  • 2 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil

Direcciones

  1. Whisk 1/3 c. flour, salt, and pepper in medium bowl to blend. Whisk in beer. Add in sufficient oil to heavy large skillet to reach depth of 1/2 inch. Heat oil to 350 degrees.
  2. Place remaining 2 Tbsp. flour on plate. Coat fish with flour. Dip in batter, letting excess drip off. Fry fish till golden and crisp, about 4 min per side. Drain fish on paper towels.
  3. Toss coleslaw mix, vinegar, honey, and 1 Tbsp. oil in medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Divide between plates. Place fish atop coleslaw.
  4. This recipe yields 2 servings.
  5. Comments: Make this a new version of Britain's fish and chips with (frzn) steak fries. Lemon tarts from the bakery would be good for dessert.
