Best Ever Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening (part butter)
  • 1/2 c. scalded lowfat milk
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. hot water (110 to 115 degrees)
  • 1 egg, room temp.
  • 3 1/2 - 3 3/4 c. sifted flour

Direcciones

  1. Measure sugar, salt and shortening into large bowl; add in scalded lowfat milk and blend.
  2. Add in yeast to hot water in small bowl and let stand 3 to 5 min. Stir to dissolve.
  3. When lowfat milk has cooled to lukewarm, add in egg, half the flour and the softened yeast. Blend till smooth. Fold in more flour till sides of bowl are cleaned, dough should be soft.
  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured board. Knead about 75 strokes. Dough will become smooth with little bubbles beneath the surface.
  5. Place in greased bowl, turn to grease all sides. Cover and let rise in hot place, about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs or possibly when dent remains when finger is pressed deep into dough.
  6. Punch down dough, let rise 15 min more.
  7. Turn out onto floured board, roll out to rectangle, 12"x15". Spread with 2 Tbsp. butter; sprinkle with 1/2 c. brown sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Roll up tight beginning at wide side. Seal and cut into 12 even slices. Place a little apart in 9"x13"x2" greased pan. Cover and let rise approximately 35 to 40 min. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake approximately 25 min. Frost if you like.
