Beth's Cheese Tart Shells

Ingredientes

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 c. + 2 tbsp. shortening
  • 1 c. (4 ounce.) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 4-5 tbsp. cool water

Direcciones

  1. Mix flour and salt in bowl; cut in shortening till it resembles coarse meal. Stir in cheese. Sprinkle cool water, 1 Tbsp. at a time; stir with fork till all moistened. Shape into 8 balls; cover and chill. Roll each ball into a 6 1/2 inch circle on lightly floured board. Line individual quiche dishes-tart pans with pastry; trim extra pastry. Bake at 450 degree for 8-10 min or possibly till lightly brown.
