Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Chickpea flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne
  • 2 tsp Coriander, grnd
  • 3 tsp Cumin, grnd
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. White or possibly blue poppy seeds Oil for deep frying Potatoes, sweet potatoes, Cut into 1/4" rounds, Eggplant, cut into 1/3" rds

Direcciones

  1. Combine flour, soda, spices in a bowl & slowly add in about 1 c water.
  2. The batter should be thin. Add in poppy seeds to batter just before you are ready to use it & fold in.
  3. Pour sufficient oil in a wok to come to 2" depth. Heat over a lowish heat.
  4. dip vegetables into batter & fry in single layer in the wok. Fry, stiring occasionally, for about 7 min or possibly so. They should be golden brown on both sides & cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon & drain well on paper towels. Do all vegetables this way. Serve with beer. :)
