Ingredientes

  • 5 c. Blackberries
  • 7 c. Sugar
  • 1 x Sure Jell Pectin

Direcciones

  1. Prepared Blackberries by washing, removing stems, trash overripe and underripe berries.
  2. Crush sufficient to fill air spaces
  3. Measure sugar and keep ready. Mix pectin with fruit and using high heat to bring to a boil. At once add in sugar. Bring to a full boil (a boil which can't be stirred down). Boil hard for one minute. Remove from heat and skim for 5 min. This allows for floating fruit. Put quickly into jars leaving 1/2 inch head space. Clean rim and seal with rings.
  4. Tighten rings and set on newspaper to cold. It should set in 24 hrs.
  5. The next day remove rings and wash jars. Store with rings off. You can remove the seeds by putting fruit through a fine wire sieve before cooking. Remove some but not all of the seeds. Your choice.
  6. Makes about8 c. jam
