Ingredientes

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/3 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. fresh or possibly frzn blackberries

Direcciones

  1. Put together sugar and water in a saucepan; stir well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till sugar dissolves. Set aside.Place butter in a 13x9x2 inch baking dish in a 350 degree oven for 3 min or possibly till butter melts. Set aside.
  2. Cut shortening into flour till mix resembles coarse meal; add in lowfat milk, stirring just till dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly 4 or possibly 5 times.
  3. Roll dough into a 12x9 inch rectangle. Spread blackberries over dough. Roll up jelly roll fashion, beginning with long side.
  4. Cut dough into 12 (1 inch) slices, place slices, cut side down, in butter. Pour sugar syrup around slices; bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 min or possibly till golden brown. Yield: 12 servings.
  5. Note: Any fresh or possibly frzn fruit can be used.
