Saturday was the last day of the conference. We knew we had to make the most of our final day in Austin, so we woke up a little earlier than usual and headed to the downtown Austin Farmers Market. We were all very hungry, so we actually walked pretty quickly past most of the booths without taking photos until we found breakfast tacos at the Tacodeli stand.
YUM! Super fresh tortillas, rolled with eggs, bacon and cheese. Super YUM! Judah even ate his right up! Then, right after that, Ben and Judah ran over to grab some shaved ice from Jim-Jim’s booth. %20%20We%20then%20walked%20over%20to%20Jo%E2%80%99s%20Coffee%20which%20was%20a%20place%20I%20had%20on%20my%20%E2%80%9Cmust-try%E2%80%9D%20list%20before%20we%20left%20for%20our%20trip.%20%20I%20love%20trying%20different%20coffee%20shops%20when%20we%20travel,%20and%20this%20one%20really%20ranks%20up%20there%20for%20me.%20%20The%20coffee%20was%20fabulous,%20but%20what%20I%20loved%20even%20more%20is%20that%20it%20is%20a%20full-breakfast%20place,%20too!%20%20During%20this%20visit,%20I%20only%20bought%20an%20iced%20coffee%20and%20then%20a%20bag%20of%20whole%20beans%20to%20take%20home%20for%20my%20French%20press.%20%20But,%20we%20came%20back%20the%20next%20morning%20and%20enjoyed%20their%20delicious%20breakfast%20before%20heading%20home.%20%20And,%20what%20did%20we%20have?%20What%20else,%20but%20breakfast%20tacos%20again!%20%20(And%20coffee,%20of%20course.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20time%20to%20head%20back%20to%20the%20hotel%20and%20get%20ready%20for%20a%20private%20luncheon%20with%20Dole%20Foods.%20%20I%20was%20super%20excited%20for%20this%20lunch%20as%20the%20invitation%20said%20it%20was%20being%20held%20at%20a%20local%20mansion!%20%20Nice!%20%20I%20hurried%20and%20cleaned%20up%20a%20little,%20then%20ran%20down%20to%20the%20lobby%20to%20meet%20up%20with%20other%20blogger%20friends%20attending%20the%20event.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%E2%80%99s%20take%20this%20time%20to%20say%20%E2%80%9CHI!%E2%80%9D%20to%20two%20of%20my%20favorite%20Michigan%20bloggers,%20Sheila%20(middle)%20and%20Liz%20(right)!%20%20Aren%E2%80%99t%20they%20beautiful!?%20%20Can%E2%80%99t%20wait%20to%20see%20you%20ladies%20again%20this%20Fall!%20%20(On%20a%20side%20note,%20I%20really%20wish%20I%20would%E2%80%99ve%20been%20better%20at%20taking%20pictures%20with%20blogging%20friends,%20and%20new%20ones,%20too.%20%20But,%20I%20think%20I%20was%20so%20distracted%20with%20Simon%20that%20it%20kept%20slipping%20my%20mind!%20%20There%20are%20some%20friends%20I%20finally%20met%20in%20person%20and%20that%20I%20totally%20wish%20I%20had%20a%20photo%20with%20but,%20alas,%20I%20missed%20my%20opportunity.%20%20Next%20time!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyway,%20back%20to%20the%20Dole%20luncheon.%20%20We%20shuttled%20off%20to%20the%20mansion%20where%20I%20was%20grateful%20to%20have%20so%20many%20helping%20hands%20with%20Simon%20and%20his%20stroller!%20%20And,%20many%20friends%20who%20were%20willing%20to%20take%20him%20off%20my%20hands!%20%20(Pictured%20above,%20left%20to%20right,%20top%20to%20bottom:%20Carrian,%20Megan,%20Karly,%20Liz)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20all%20gathered%20on%20the%20back%20porch,%20overlooking%20the%20gorgeous%20view%20and%20infinity%20pool,%20while%20Chef%20Ben%20Ford%20demonstrated%20a%20shrimp%20spring%20rolls%20recipe.%20%20Susan%20and%20Paula%20were%20busy%20in%20the%20kitchen%20preparing%20our%20lunch,%20which%20was%20what%20I%20always%20have%20to%20say%20is%20the%20highlight%20of%20an%20event,%20of%20course!%20%20Food%E2%80%A6yes%20please!%20%20Delicious%20food%E2%80%A6%20absolutely!%20%20We%20munched%20on%20the%20shrimp%20spring%20rolls,%20pork%20sliders,%20Moroccan-style%20flatbreads,%20mandarin%20orange%20salad,%20pineapple%20upside%20down%20cakes,%20and%20strawberry%20shortcake.%20%20Then,%20we%20washed%20it%20down%20with%20a%20tasty%20White%20Pineapple%20Sangria%20and%20Pineapple%20Cranberry%20Punch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20of%20the%20dishes%20were%20made%20with%20Dole%20Packaged%20Food%20products!%20%20I%20learned%20at%20this%20luncheon%20that%20all%20of%20their%20products%20are%20never%20genetically%20modified,%20and%20they%20will%20be%20adding%20a%20GMO-free%20label%20to%20their%20BPA-free%20packaging,%20soon.%20%20This%20excites%20me%20because%20packaged%20food%20products%20can%20really%20eliminate%20a%20lot%20of%20hassle%20in%20the%20kitchen%20and%20lessen%20the%20amount%20of%20time%20it%20takes%20to%20get%20dinner%20on%20the%20table%20and%20Dole%20is%20providing%20products%20we%20can%20trust!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd,%20check%20out%20the%20super%20cool%20Dole%20coolers%20we%20were%20given%20(bottom%20left),%20with%20a%20few%20extra%20surprises%20inside.%20%20I%20kept%20telling%20Ben,%20even%20after%20we%20got%20home,%20how%20excited%20I%20was%20to%20have%20a%20new%20cooler.%20%20He%20might%20have%20made%20fun%20of%20me%20a%20little%20for%20that%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can%E2%80%99t%20finish%20talking%20about%20the%20Dole%20luncheon%20without%20mentioning%20the%20recipe%20tasting%20contest.%20%20Each%20guest%20was%20asked%20to%20take%20a%20taste%20test%20and%20list%20as%20many%20of%20the%20ingredients%20in%20the%20recipe%20that%20they%20could%20uncover.%20%20The%20winner%20would%20fly%20out%20to%20Santa%20Monica,%20CA%20to%20sit%20next%20to%20Chef%20Ben%20Ford%20as%20a%20judge%20for%20the%20Dole%20California%20Cook-off.%20%20And,%20guess%20what?%20%20My%20girl,%20Liz,%20won!!%20%20I%20snatched%20a%20quick%20photo%20of%20her%20reaction%20when%20they%20announced%20her%20as%20the%20winner%20(upper%20right).%20%20How%20cute%20is%20she!?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20the%20Dole%20lunch,%20I%20attempted%20to%20sit%20in%20on%20a%20conference%20session,%20but%20Simon%20started%20acting%20up%20so%20I%20had%20to%20leave.%20%20We%20ended%20the%20conference%20at%20Stubb%E2%80%99s%20BBQ%20for%20the%20closing%20party,%20hosted%20by%20Ree%20Drummond%20and%20Jaden%20Hair,%20but%20again,%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20even%20snatch%20one%20photo%20there!%20%20Simon%20had%20had%20enough,%20so%20we%20didn%E2%80%99t%20stay%20at%20the%20party%20long%20before%20heading%20back%20to%20the%20hotel.%20%20I%20missed%20out%20on%20the%20fun%20photo%20booth,%20and%20meeting%20The%20Pioneer%20Woman,%20but%20I%20think%20getting%20my%20baby%20proper%20rest%20before%20our%20long%20drive%20home%20was%20more%20important%20that%20night!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20already%20can%E2%80%99t%20wait%20for%20next%20year%E2%80%99s%20conference!!%20Will%20you%20be%20there??%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
