Ingredientes

  • 3 c. fresh blood orange juice (or possibly regular orange juice)
  • 9 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. grated blood orange peel (or possibly regular orange peel)

Direcciones

  1. Stir all ingredients in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat till sugar dissolves. Increase heat and boil till syrup is reduced to 1 1/2 c., about 20 min. Chill till cool. Cover and keep refrigerated up to 2 days.
  2. This recipe yields 1 1/2 c..
  3. Comments: Blood oranges have red flesh and sweet-tart juice. They're available at farmers' markets and, increasingly, at supermarkets. This syrup would also be good over waffles.
  4. Yield: 1 1/2 c.
