Receta Borsch ( Beet Soup )

- Simmer ham bone with water in a large soup pot for about an hour.
- Add onion, potatoes, carrots, celery, beets and bay leaf to the pot ; cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low; add salt, and black pepper to taste.
- Add cream cream and serve.
- Any vegetables can be used in soup.
- Also any meat stock can be used, even broth and oxo cubes. For vegetarian no stock need be used.
- Milk may be used instead of cream ( not as good tasting)
