- Boil the saltfish in water to extract some of the saltiness, then drain and clean, making sure to remove any stray bones. Cut up the fish into very small pcs. While fish is boiling, toss together the minced onion, tomatoes, scallions, sweet pepper, warm pepper, and minced hard-boiled egg. Add in the prepared cucumber and the salt fish. In a small mixing bowl, blend together the sugar, lime juice, and vegetable oil. Whisk till well blended. Pour the mix over the cooked fish and vegetables. Toss, then serve.
