Braised Spareribs With Red Bean Cheese

Ingredientes

  • 2 lb Pork spareribs
  • 1/2 x Clove garlic
  • 1 slc Fresh ginger root
  • 1/4 c. Scallion tops
  • 2 Tbsp. Red bean cheese (see recipe)
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp. Oil
  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. Water

Direcciones

  1. Cut ribs apart; then with a cleaver, chop each, bone and all, in 1-inch sections. Mince garlic clove and ginger root. Cut scallion tops in 1-inch lengths.
  2. Mash red bean cheese and combine with soy sauce, sugar and salt.
  3. Heat oil in a heavy pan. Add in chopped garlic and ginger and stir-fry a few times. Add in spareribs and stir-fry to coat with oil. Add in red bean cheese mix and stir-fry till ribs begin to brown.
  4. Add in water and heat quickly; then simmer, covered, till ribs are done
  5. (about 30 min). If liquid evaporates, add in some boiling water to prevent burning.
  6. Blend cornstarch and remaining cool water to a paste; then stir in to thicken. Sprinkle with scallion tops and serve.
