Bratwurst With Onion Marmalade

Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. (60 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 lrg onions, finely minced
  • 1 c. (250 ml) dry red wine
  • 1/4 c. (60 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 ml) sugar
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) dry thyme Salt and freshly grnd pepper to taste
  • 8 x bratwurst, grilled or possibly broiled till browned on all sides
  • 8 x hoagie rolls or possibly French bread buns, split lengthwise Assorted mustards

Direcciones

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over moderate heat and saute/fry the onions till tender, about 10 min. Add in the remaining marmalade ingredients and reduce the heat to low. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, till almost all of the liquid has evaporated, 15 to 20 min. Remove from the heat and let cold. Serve with the cooked bratwurst on buns along with assorted mustards.
  2. Serves 6 to 8.
