Receta Brie & Pear Crostini with Honey and Hazelnuts
Good evening!!! Did you all catch this afternoons post, my Pecan Cornmeal Biscotti? Well its been a busy and delicious day so I have yet another recipe for you tonight! I’ve got an incredibly simple and wonderfully flavorful hors d’oeuvre for you, my Brie & Pear Crostini with Honey and Hazelnuts.
I love making crostini because when it comes to topping them, the possibilities are absolutely endless! The base is so simple, sliced baguette that is toasted until golden. I decided not to season the bread this time around because the layers of ingredients that these are topped with need nothing else.
The brie is buttery and creamy melted on top of the crostini. The pear slice adds a cool, crisp sweetness. The crostini then get a drizzle of incredible local honey and to finish it off some toasted hazelnuts for a little extra crunch.
Have you noticed I use brie in a lot of hors d’oeuvres? I really really love it! Its mild, creamy, buttery and melts wonderfully. It pairs so well with different fruits and nuts as well. A couple of my favorite brie and fruit hors d’oeuvres: Brie, Apple & Almond Phyllo Cups and Puff Pastry Brie & Apricot Bundles.
These crostini are also great because you can toast up the bread days ahead of time then the day of simply pop back in the oven to melt the brie and top with the pear, honey and toasted hazelnuts. If you have apples on hand, those would work great as well. Also, if you have almonds or walnuts on hand already, go ahead and use those. They all work great together.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Place the hazelnuts in a dry frying pan and toast until just lightly golden {be careful, nuts will burn quickly}. Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet in a single layer and toast up for about 8 minutes or until golden. Top each crostini with a slice of brie. Pop back in the oven for a few minutes just until the brie is melted. Top each with a slice of pear, drizzle with honey and top off with the toasted hazelnuts. 3.2.2885
