Ingredientes

  • 4 lbs chuck, brisket, or flank
  • 6 onions, diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 gingersnaps, crushed

Direcciones

  1. Heat a heavy saucepan or Dutch oven and brown the meat in it over medium heat. If meat is very lean add a little fat for browning. Turn frequently.
  2. Add the onions and brown lightly.
  3. Add the salt and water. Cover and cook over low heat 2 hours.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice, brown sugar, and gingersnaps. Cook 10 minutes.
  5. Taste to correct seasoning.
