Ingredientes

  • 5 lrg Matzas or possibly 4 c. sesame crackers
  • 2 c. Boiling water
  • 3 x Vegetable bouillon cubes
  • 3 med -sized onions, diced
  • 2 c. Minced broccoli florets and small stalks
  • 5 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1 c. Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 x Carrots, shredded
  • 1 c. Crumbled hard tofu, liquid removed Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Poppy or possibly sesame seeds, (optional)

Direcciones

  1. A unique kugel which is easy to make and sure to be enjoyed.
  2. Break matzas or possibly crackers into 2-inch pcs in a large bowl. If using small crackers, leave whole. Combine water and bouillon cubes, letting cubes dissolve, and pour over crackers. Mix well and let stand 5 min Saute/fry onion with broccoli in the vegetable oil till onions are soft. Add in to crackers along with cheese, carrots, tofu, salt and black pepper to taste
  3. (see note). Turn into an oiled 8 x 8-inch pan. Sprinkle seeds over top.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 50 to 55 min till golden brown. Let stand for 15 min before serving.
  5. Yield: 8 main servings
  6. Note: Adjust salt amount depending upon the type of matzas or possibly crackers you use."
