Broiled Tomatoes Parmesan

Ingredientes

  • 2 med ripe tomatoes - (12 to 14 ounce total)
  • 1 x garlic clove chopped
  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil (or possibly 1 tspn dry basil)
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 c. fresh soft bread crumbs (or possibly 1 slice bread, crumbled)
  • 1 Tbsp. freshly-grated Parmesan cheese (preferably imported)

Direcciones

  1. Cut the tomatoes in half crosswise. Gently squeeze out and throw away the seeds. Place the tomatoes cut-side up on a boiler pan prepared with nonstick pan spray.
  2. Combine the garlic, oil, basil, and pepper in a small bowl. Brush proportionately over the cut surfaces of the tomatoes. Broil 6 inches from the heat source till warm, about 5 min.
  3. While the tomatoes are broiling, combine the crumbs and cheese in a small bowl; sprinkle proportionately over the tops of the warm tomatoes. Return to the broiler till the crumbs are browned, about 2 min. Serve immediately.
  4. This recipe yields 4 servings.
  5. Serving size: 1/2 tomato.
