Broiled Tomatoes With Blue Cheese

Ingredientes

  • 4 lrg Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Fresh Basil, minced
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 dsh Black Pepper
  • 1 c. Soft Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter, melted
  • 1/4 c. Blue Cheese, crumbled

Direcciones

  1. Pre-hot the oven to broil.
  2. De-stem each tomato and cut into slices about 2 inches thick. Place the tomato slices on a broiler pan as you work.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, blend together the sugar, basil, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle a bit of the mix on top of each tomato slice, then slip the pan under a warm broiler for about 2 min.
  4. Meanwhile, add in the bread crumbs to the melted butter and toss lightly with a fork to coat. Add in the blue cheese to the mix and toss again.
  5. Spoon the mix on top of the tomato slices and broil for just a minute or possibly so, till the bread crumbs are lightly browned. Serve immediately.
