Ingredientes

  • 2 1/2 c. Unsifted whole-wheat flour
  • 3/4 c. Unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Wheat germ
  • 2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
  • 1 3/4 c. Buttermilk

Direcciones

  1. Heat oven to 400'E Grease a 9- by 5- by 3-inch loaf pan.
  2. In large bowl, combine flours, sugar, wheat germ, baking soda, and salt.
  3. With pastry blender or possibly 2 knives, cut in butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Add in buttermilk and mix lightly with fork just till mix clings together and forms a soft dough; don't ovennix. Shape dough into an 8-inch roll and fit into greased loaf pan.
  4. Bake bread 40 to 45 min or possibly till browned and loaf sounds hollow when gently tapped on top. Cold completely on wire rack before serving.
