%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThanks%20to%20Small%20Small%20Baker's%20latest%20post,%20I%20am%20now%20able%20to%20work%20around%20the%20problem!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20kids%20love%20pizza.%20However,%20having%20pizza%20at%20the%20restaurants%20or%20even%20getting%20them%20delivered%20to%20your%20door-step%20can%20be%20expensive.%20So%20whenever%20both%20of%20them%20are%20at%20home%20during%20the%20school%20holidays,%20we%20will%20make%20it%20a%20point%20to%20build%20our%20own%20homemade%20pizza.%20I%20guess%20homemade%20pizza%20is%20also%20a%20much%20healthier%20option.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20time%20round,%20I%20tried%20another%20pizza%20dough%20recipe%20from%20this%20book%20%22Baking%20with%20Kids%22%20by%20Linda%20Collister,%20who%20happens%20to%20be%20one%20of%20my%20favourite%20authors.%20I%20fell%20in%20love%20with%20the%20beautiful%20illustrations%20in%20the%20book%20the%20moment%20I%20picked%20it%20up%20from%20the%20library%20shelf.%20I%20have%20bookmarked%20several%20of%20her%20recipes%20and%20this%20is%20the%20very%20first%20recipe%20I%20tried.%20I%20liked%20the%20fact%20that%20dried%20mixed%20herbs%20is%20added%20to%20the%20dough%20as%20I%20love%20the%20aroma%20of%20mixed%20herbs,%20be%20it%20used%20in%20cooking%20or%20baking.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20like%20to%20involve%20my%20kids%20in%20my%20cooking%20whenever%20the%20opportunity%20arises.%20I%20find%20cooking%20with%20my%20kids%20very%20fun,%20at%20least%20it%20feels%20good%20that%20I%20am%20not%20alone%20toiling%20away%20in%20the%20kitchen.%20My%20younger%20child%20helped%20me%20knead%20the%20pizza%20dough%20with%20great%20enthusiasm,%20while%20the%20elder%20one%20gave%20me%20a%20hand%20when%20it%20came%20to%20slicing%20up%20the%20hams,%20pineapples%20and%20sausages.%20Both%20will%20fight%20over%20who%20to%20spread%20the%20sauce%20and%20toppings,%20and%20without%20fail%20they%20would%20smuggle%20some%20hams%20and%20pineapples%20while%20I%20was%20not%20looking.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20made%20two%20pizzas%20from%20this%20recipe,%20Hawaiian...their%20all%20time%20favourite,%20and%20another%20one%20with%20my%20favourite%20mushroom%20toppings.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20my%20delight,%20the%20dough%20was%20pretty%20easy%20to%20roll%20out,%20unlike%20my%20past%20experience%20with%20some%20other%20recipes.%20We%20were%20able%20to%20roll%20out%20the%20the%20dough%20till%20very%20thin%20without%20it%20shrinking%20back%20the%20moment%20we%20lift%20up%20the%20rolling%20pin.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20resulting%20crust%20was%20rather%20thin%20with%20very%20crispy%20edge,%20although%20the%20centre%20of%20the%20pizza%20was%20less%20crisp.%20Even%20though%20I%20used%20canned%20mushrooms,%20the%20pizza%20was%20still%20as%20delicious,%20the%20left%20over%20sausages%20gave%20a%20nice%20savory%20taste%20to%20it.%20We%20had%20a%20fun%20and%20hearty%20lunch%20that%20day.%20I%20am%20already%20looking%20forward%20to%20another%20round%20of%20pizza%20making%20soon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHomemade%20Pizza%20Dough%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(make%20two%2012%22%20pizza%20dough)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20flour,%20salt,%20yeast%20and%20dried%20mixed%20herbs%20in%20a%20mixing%20bowl.%20Mix%20well%20with%20hand.%20Make%20a%20well%20in%20the%20centre%20and%20add%20the%20water%20and%20olive%20oil.%20Using%20your%20hand,%20gradually%20work%20the%20ingredients%20together%20to%20form%20a%20soft%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20dough%20out%20onto%20a%20lightly%20floured%20work%20surface%20and%20knead%20for%2010mins%20until%20the%20dough%20becomes%20smooth%20and%20elastic.%20Shape%20dough%20into%20a%20round%20ball%20and%20place%20in%20a%20lightly%20oiled%20mixing%20bowl.%20Cover%20with%20cling%20wrap%20and%20leave%20to%20rise%20for%201%20hr%20or%20until%20double%20in%20size.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20out%20the%20risen%20dough%20onto%20a%20lightly%20floured%20work%20surface%20and%20knock%20it%20down%20to%20release%20the%20air.%20Give%20it%20a%20few%20gentle%20kneading.%20Divide%20dough%20into%202%20equal%20portions.%20Shape%20into%20two%20balls,%20cover%20loosely%20with%20cling%20wrap%20and%20let%20the%20doughs%20rest%20for%20about%2010mins.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20or%20press%20out%20each%20portion%20to%20a%20round,%20about%2012%22%20in%20size.%20Place%20dough%20on%20baking%20tray%20lined%20with%20parchment%20paper%20or%20on%20a%20greased%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpread%20some%20pizza%20sauce%20over%20the%20dough%20to%20within%201%20cm%20(0.5%20inch)%20of%20the%20edge.%20Arrange%20a%20layer%20of%20grated%20cheese%20(I%20used%20grated%20mozzarella),%20followed%20by%20preferred%20toppings.%20Sprinkle%20the%20top%20all%20over%20with%20grated%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20in%20a%20preheat%20oven%20at%20200%20degC%20for%2015~20mins%20or%20until%20the%20crust%20has%20turned%20golden%20and%20the%20cheese%20has%20melted.%20Serve%20warm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20source:%20adapted%20from%20Baking%20with%20Kids%20by%20Linda%20Collister%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
