- Soak bulgur in hot water for 10 min; drain well. Place in a medium-sized bowl. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-low heat and saute/fry onions for 5 to 6 min. Add in onions and oil to the bulgur. Mix the tomato paste with a drop of water to liquefy; add in to the salad. Mix well. Add in remaining ingredients. Cover and let salad sit at room temperature for 4 hrs before serving.
