A Few Tips Before You Get Cooking:
Work quickly with the Rice Krispies when molding because they do set fast. That’s why I keep it over a very low heat – so the it stays pliable.

You can use any color food dye you like for these; you can even split it up before adding the dye and add a different color to each section.
If you want to get more bang for your buck, you can make some of the filling into the bunnies, and make some of it into egg-shapes, which will use less of the filling so you can have more treats.
Pretty sprinkles would jazz these up too.
Bunny Butt Rice Krispie Treats
By The Smart Cookie Cook
Yield – about 20
Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp. (half stick) unsalted butter
- 10-oz. bag large marshmallows + 1 cup mini marshmallows
- pink food dye
- 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
- white frosting
- 20 (additional) mini marshmallows, for the cottontails
Directions:
In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the large marshmallows plus one cup mini marshmallows and continue to stir until completely melted.
Turn heat down to the lowest possible setting and stir in 3-4 drops of food dye until evenly distributed. Fold in Krispies until evenly coated. Let cool slightly, about 2 minutes, until the mixture is cool enough to touch, but still warm.
Lightly spray your hands with nonstick spray. This will keep the mixture from sticking to your hands.
Grab one small ball of Rice Krispie mixture (about 1-2 tbsp. worth) and shape into an oval. This is the bunny’s body.
Grab another small ball of RK mixture (about 1 tbsp. worth) and shape into a small circle, attaching to the top of the “body” to represent the bunny’s head.
Take two tiny pieces of RK mixture, stretch and flatten into long ovals, and attach to the top of the “head” to represent the bunny’s ears.
Slightly flatten a mini marshmallow with your hands. Use a small dot of frosting to attach the marshmallow to the lower center of the bunny’s “body.”
Continue steps 4-7 until all the RK mixture is used, placing finished bunnies on a sheet of waxed paper to set and cool completely, about 20 minutes. Re-spray your hands with the cooking spray as need.
Store treats in an air-tight container or enjoy!
