Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices packed in own juice, Liquid removed and 1/3 c. juice reserved
  • 2 Tbsp. Light corn syrup

  3. In 3 quart casserole, combine 1 c. sugar, 1/3 c. reserved juice and the corn syrup. Arrange five pineapple slices in single layer over sugar mix.
  4. Microwave on High 8-12 minutes. or possibly till sugar dissolves and slices are glossy and transparent on edges, turning over and rearranging every 4 min. Remove slices to wire rack and cold. They will become more transparent as they cold. Add in remaining slices to the warm syrup and repeat as above. When slices have cooled completely, coat with sugar. Cover with wax paper and let stand on wire rack at least 24 hrs to dry.
  5. Recoat with sugar. Slices will be slightly sticky.
  6. Store in airtight container with wax paper between layers no longer than 2 weeks.
