Receta Caramel Apple Pops {Cooking With Kids}
Made with a caramel ganache, this recipe is just like the original caramel apple, minus all of the mess. From drizzling the caramel to picking out their own toppings, kids of all ages will enjoy making this delicious treat!
Cooking class this past weekend was f-u-n. The theme was Happy Harvest Recipes. Believe me when I say that it was exciting picking out the recipes for this theme! We made Candy Corn Milkshakes (which I may do a post on later), Baked Zucchini Fries, Roasted Pumpkin Seeds, and these lovely Caramel Apple Pops.
The children absolutely enjoyed everything that we made. I've been teaching cooking classes for six months now, and it never ceases to amaze me how curious and motivated these children are to learn. Their brains are like little sponges, ready to soak up all of the culinary information that comes their way.
There really isn't any method to this recipe, except when producing the caramel ganache. Even making that, however, is pretty darn simple. This is the perfect treat to make if you are looking for an easier, less messy alternative to the age old caramel apple. You slice some apples, place a lollipop stick into each piece, make your caramel, drizzle the caramel onto the slices, then garnish with your favorite toppings. I mean...come on...it simply cannot get any easier then that!
In the picture above, I used regular chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, candy corn M & M's, chopped pecans, and crushed cinnamon graham crackers. In cooking class, we used all of these except for the pecans. Due to possible food allergies, we replaced those with mini marshmallows. The children had fun putting the lollipop sticks through the apples, drizzling their own caramel, and placing their toppings of choice onto their slices. We all enjoyed making these and I hope you will too!
