Carrot Peas Poriyal
Simple delicious poriyal with carrot and peas.
For this Poriyal you need
- 3 medium sized carrots (wash, peel the skin and chop them to small cubes)
- 3/4 cup of green peas
- 1 onion
- 2 red chillies
- A sprig of curry leaves
- 1 tsp. of mustard and urad dhal
- 1 tbsp. of grated coconut
- Salt
- Oil
Preparation
Chop the onion.
Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard and urad dhal, when they stop spluttering add the curry leaves and red chillies, saute for a min.
Add chopped onion, fry until they turn translucent.
Add green peas and cook them for 5 mins. with frequent stirring.
Add chopped carrots , along with salt and saute well.
Sprinkle water ,cover the pan with a lid and cook in low flame until the vegetables are softened. (keep stirring and sprinkle water when needed)
Finally add the grated coconut and mix them gently.
Carrot Peas Poriyal is ready to serve.................
Serve with rice/Chapathi................ :)
