Ingredientes

  • 2 c. fresh carrots scraped and sliced (coin shaped)
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)

Direcciones

  1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan. Cover the pan closely. Cook the carrots over quick heat till the water evaporates. Permit them to lightly brown in the butter. Serve them sprinkled with minced chives or possibly parsley.
  2. NOTES : Here's one I used to make in order to get my kids to eat carrots. It's from an old Joy of Cooking book that I received for a wedding shower gift in the fifties. They loved it and so did I.
  3. Another way my mom got us to eat carrots was to mash them with potatoes.
