- Mustard seeds â 1 tsp
- Asafetida â 2 pinch
- Turmeric powder â 1/2 tsp
- Sugar â 1 tsp (optional)
- Curry leaf â 1 sprig
- Oil â 2 tbsp
- Salt â to taste
- To be grind to a fine paste:

- Urad dal â 1 tsp
- Whole coriander seeds â 1 tsp
- Fenugreek â 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds â 1 tsp
- Whole dry red chillies â 4 to 5
- Grated coconut â 3-4 tbsp
- Oil â 1/2 tbsp
