Ingredientes

  • 4 c. Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 c. Cornmeal, yellow
  • 1 x Egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan or possibly Romano cheese
  • 1/2 c. Butter or possibly margarine, melted
  • 2 c. Tomato sauce, home-made or possibly store-bought

Direcciones

  1. Bring 2 1/2 c. water to a boil in top of double boiler, add in salt.
  2. Mix cornmeal with remaining water and add in to boiling water, stirring.
  3. Cook till mix thickens. Place over boiling water and cook, covered for 45 min, stirring occasionally. Pour into lightly buttered 9x9" pan, smoothing top. Refrigeratethroughly.
  4. Using a sharp knife, c. polenta into squares or possibly other shapes. Dip pcs into beaten egg. Coat with grateed cheese. Arrange in baking pan and drizzle with butter. Bake in 375 F. oven for 20-25 min or possibly till very warm and lightly browned. Serve with heated tomato sauce.
