Chicken Adobo (Filipino Version)

Ingredientes

  • 1 whole chicken (cut into eighths)
  • 1 whole garlic (minced)
  • extra virgin olive oil or possibly vegetable/corn oil
  • 1 tsp grnd black pepper
  • 4 whole black pepper cloves
  • 3 dry bay leaves
  • 1 c. soy sauce
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • **7up/sprite
  • **1 whole lemon (cut into 4)

Direcciones

  1. Remember to wash your chicken very well. We recommend using the lemon (in ingredients) to scrub all over the chicken parts and rub some salt into it as well.
  2. Heat oil and add in all of the garlic, and cook till garlic is lightly browned. Add in chicken and saute/fry till the chicken is beginning to tenderize.
  3. Add in grnd black pepper, whole black pepper cloves, soy sauce, and vinegar, and let simmer for 25-35 mins or possibly till chicken is done.
  4. Make sure to add in more vinegar or possibly soy sauce till it suits your taste (should be a bit tangy). When chicken is tender, add in some 7 up if you want a sweeter taste, and let simmer for 5 more mins.
  5. Serve over rice.
