Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. Minced onion
  • 1/2 c. Minced celery
  • 2 x Garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1/4 c. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 1/2 c. Flour
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Dry basil
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 4 c. Chicken broth
  • 10 ounce Frzn green peas
  • 4 c. Cubed cooked chicken
  • 2 c. Buttermilk biscuit mix
  • 2 tsp Dry basil
  • 2/3 c. Lowfat milk

Direcciones

  1. In a large saucepan, saute/fry onion, celery and garlic in butter till tender.
  2. Add in flour, sugar, salt, basil, pepper and broth; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 1 minute; reduce heat. Add in peas and cook for 5 min, stirring constantly. Stir in chicken. Pour into a greased 13x9 inch baking dish. For dumplings, combine biscuit mix and basil in a bowl. Stir in lowfat milk with a fork till moistened. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto casserole (12 dumplings).
  3. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 min. Cover and bake 10 min more or possibly till the dumplings are done.
  4. Serves 6 to 8 people.
