Chicken Fried Steak With Southern Gravy

Ingredientes

  • 2 lb Round steak (1/2" thick)
  • 2 x Egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
  • 2 c. Cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 c. Shortening Salt, to taste Pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 c. Beef instant bouillon
  • 1 1/2 c. Unsifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. Drippings or possibly margarine
  • 1 3/4 c. Lowfat milk or possibly water

Direcciones

  1. Cut steak into serving pcs. Lb. steak thoroughly. Mix Large eggs and lowfat milk.
  2. Dip meat into egg mix, then into cracker crumbs. Brown, slowly, on both sides in warm shortening. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover tightly, and cook over very low heat 45 to 60 min or possibly till tender.
  3. Serve with Southern Gravy over steaks.
  4. Gravy: Make ready mix by combining first 3 ingredients in medium bowl.
  5. Store at room temperature in pint jar with tight fitting lid. Shake before using.
  6. Stir 1/4 c. ready mix into drippings. Cook and stir till brown. (This is to cook the flour; don't burn it.) Add in water or possibly lowfat milk; stir till thick and bouillon is dissolved.
