Receta Chickpeas Sambar
Ingredients:
- White Chickpeas – 1 to 2 tblsp
- Onions – 1 tblsp, finely chopped
- Garlic – 10 to 20 cloves, peeled
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Sambar Powder – 2 tsp
- Tamarind Extract – 1 cup
- Salt as per taste
- Oil as required
- For Tempering:
- Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Toor Dal – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves – few
Method:
1. Soak the chickpeas for 8 hours or overnight. Drain well and keep aside until required.
2. Place the tamarind extract over medium flame.
3. Add salt, turmeric powder and sambar powder.
4. Stir well.
5. Heat little oil in a frying pan.
6. Fry the tempering ingredients for 30 seconds.
7. Add the onions, garlic and saute well for 2 to 3 minutes.
8. Add to the tamarind extract along with the chickpeas.
9. Bring to a boil.
10. Remove and serve hot.
