Receta Chili
Chili
- 2-1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground Italian sausage
- 4 celery ribs, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (46 oz) tomato juice
- 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
- 2 cans (10 3/4 oz) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
- 1 cup water
- 1 can (14 oz) beef broth
- 1 can (16 oz) kidney beans
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans
- 2 cans (16 oz each) chili beans, in chili sauce
- 2-4 T chili powder
- 1 t red pepper flakes
- 3 bay leaves
- 2 T brown sugar
- 1 envelope McCormick chili seasoning mix
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups cavatappi noodles or noodles of your choice, cooked and drained
In dutch oven or large soup pot, cook ground beef, sausage, celery, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add tomato juice, diced tomatoes, diced tomatoes with green chilies, diced green chilies, tomato soup, water, beef broth, kidney beans, black beans, chili beans, chili powder, red pepper flakes, bay leaves, brown sugar, envelope chili seasoning mix, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 mins or longer. Stir in noodles. Cook, uncovered for 5 mins, or until heated through. Discard bay leaves.
