Ingredientes

  • 3 tsp flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp chili pwdr
  • 2 lb round steak, 1 inch thick, cut up
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 c. minced onion
  • 1 x (16 ounce.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 x (4 ounce.) pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350:. Combine flour, salt, chili pwdr and pepper. Trim any excess fat from meat, sprinkle mix into meat, sprinkle mix into meat and lb. into it. Turn and repeat on the other side. In large skillet in warm shortening brown meat well on both sides; remove meat from skillet. In drippings brown onions; stir in remaining flour mix. In large shallow casserole spoon onion mix. Arrange steaks on top; then add in tomatoes and their liquid. Cover and bake 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till tender.
  2. Spoon any fat from casserole. Sprinkle steaks with cheese, heat 5 min or possibly till cheese melts. Serve as is or possibly over rice. Jan
