Ingredientes

  • 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1 1/4 tsp chili pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c. frzn whole-kernel corn thawed
  • 1/3 c. chopped seeded jalapeno pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green onions
  • 1/2 c. skim lowfat milk
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3 x egg whites lightly beaten Vegetable cooking spray

Direcciones

  1. Combine the first 5 ingredients; stir well. Add in corn, jalapeno, and onions; stir.
  2. Combine lowfat milk, honey, oil, and egg whites; stir. Add in to flour mix, stirring just till the dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Spoon batter into a 9-inch pie plate coated with cooking spray.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 min or possibly till a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  5. Yield: 8 servings (serving size: 1 wedge).
  6. Serving Ideas : Remove from pie plate; cut into wedges. Serve hot.
  7. NOTES : This corn bread is so full of flavor which it almost seems like a main dish.
