Chilli garlic paneer is a quick and delicious paneer starter which can be prepared within half an hour. It also goes well as a side dish for rotis or dal rice or noodles. Chilli garlic paneer is made with paneer and a mixture of red chillies, garlic cloves and vinegar. This starter is not only made with minimum ingredients but also does not require deep frying.
This dry version of chilli paneer can be served as an appetizer or as a starter. It is a very tasty dish as it garlic flavoured and mildly spicy too and it can be enjoyed during a rainy day or chilly winters too. Do try this yummy snack and enjoy!!

INGREDIENTS
Paneer or cottage cheese – 200 gms
Butter or oil – 2 tablespoons
Cumin seeds or jeera – 1/2 tsp
Onions – 1/2 cup (chopped finely)
Coriander leaves for garnishing – 2 tablespoons
TO BE GROUND TO A SMOOTH PASTE
Kashmiri red chillies – 5 to 6 nos
Garlic cloves – 8 nos
Sugar – 1 tsp
Vinegar – 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste
HOW TO MAKE OR PREPARE CHILLI GARLIC PANEER RECIPE
In a mixer grinder, add the red chillies, garlic cloves, vinegar, sugar and salt. Grind to a smooth paste by adding 2 tablespoons of water. Keep the paste aside. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter or oil in a pan. Once hot, add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds and saute for few seconds. Then add 1/2 cup finely chopped onions and saute till the onions become translucent. Then add the ground paste and mix well. Cook on a low flame for 2 mins. Then add paneer pieces and give a good mix. Toss gently to coat the paneer pieces with the mixture. Cook for another 1 minute on low flame. (Do not overcook the paneer). Then switch off the flame. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve chilli garlic paneer immediately hot or warm as desired.
NOTES/TIPS
Soak the paneer in warm water for 5 minutes, as it softens the paneer and gives good taste to the dish.
Do not overcook the paneer or else it may turn hard.
Use fresh or home made paneer for best results.
Adjust red chillis and garlic cloves according to your taste and preference
