Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 Tbsp. rice or possibly white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp five spice pwdr optional
  • 1 sm onion finely minced
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh ginger
  • 1 x garlic clove chopped
  • 1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in
  • 1 Tbsp. cool water
  • 4 lb Country-style Pork Ribs, Cut in Single Rib warm cooked rice

  1. In a 3-1/2 qt slow cooker, combine ketchup, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, five-spice pwdr, onion, ginger and garlic. Position a broiler rack 6 inches from the source of the heat and preheat the broiler. Broil the ribs, turning once, till browned. About 10 min. Transfer the ribs to the slow cooker. Stir to coat the ribs with the sauce. Cover and slow cook till ribs are tender. 5-6 hrs at 200 degrees (low). Transfer the ribs to a platter and cover with aluminum foil to keep hot. Skim the fat from the surface of the sauce. In a medium saucepan bring the sauce to a simmer over a medium heat. Cook till reduced to about 1 c., 6-8 min. Stir in the cornstarch mix and cook just till thickened. Pour the sauce over ribs and serve immediately with warm cooked rice.
