Ingredientes

  • 1 lg. (1 lg. 11 ounce.) can sauerkraut
  • Cool water
  • 1 med. onion, finely minced
  • 1 med. size ripe tomato, peeled, seeded and minced
  • 2 tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grnd black pepper
  • 1 c. chicken broth

Direcciones

  1. Drain sauerkraut, cover with cool water, let stand for about 15 min. Rinse well in cool running water and drain.
  2. In a large frying pan, saute/fry sauerkraut, onion and tomato in salad oil, stirring, till onions are limp. Stir in sugar, pepper, and broth. Simmer, uncovered, for 25 min or possibly till liquid disappears; stir occasionally. Correct seasoning with salt and pepper. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
