Chinese Peas With Chestnuts

Ingredientes

  • 1/3 c. minced raw pork
  • 1 tbsp. peanut or possibly salad oil
  • 2 c. Chinese green peas, podded sugar peas, usually, use frzn ones
  • 1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
  • 2 tbsp. cool water
  • 1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch

Direcciones

  1. Fry the meat in warm oil. Add in peas, chestnuts and monosodium glutamate, broth. Steam, covered, over high heat 3 min.
  2. Combine cornstarch and cool water. Push vegetables to one side and add in cornstarch mix to broth. Cook and stir till slightly thick. Add in salt and pepper.
  3. (I also use chicken more than pork.) Good with teriyaki. Makes 3 or possibly 4 servings.
