Choco Cinnamon Marzipan Squares

Ingredientes

  • ½ lb (250 g) home-made marzipan (see recipe on this site)
  • 5 ounce (150 g) whole blanched almonds
  • 7 ounce (200 g) dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • Grnd cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp acacia honey
  • Powdered sugar (icing sugar)
  • Baking sheet
  • Cooling rack

Direcciones

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180°C)
  2. Place almonds on baking sheet and grill them in warm oven for 10 min.
  3. Remove almonds from oven, cold a few min, then crush using flat side of knife. Set aside.
  4. Spread homemade marzipan in a thick layer (1/2 – 3/4 inch) on work surface lightly dusted with icing sugar to prevent dough from sticking.
  5. Cut marzipan layer into small 1/2 inch squares.
  6. Heat chocolate pcs in a double boiler, adding a healthy pinch of grnd cinnamon.
  7. Then, using a fork, dip each marzipan square into melted chocolate and place on cooling rack.
  8. In another saucepan, heat honey with a healthy pinch of grnd cinnamon and 2 tbsp water. When mix foams, add in almond pcs, stirring constantly and removing from heat.
  9. Arrange a few honeyed almond pcs on each marzipan square and cold 15 min.
