Receta Chocolate and Cherry Cookies
It's February and that means....Valentine's Day~
My mom was born on Valentine's Day, so when I was growing up,
we always celebrated Valentine's Day/ Mom's Birthday.
We celebrated with cake, ice cream and presents,
the usual birthday fare, only the color theme was always the same,
red, white and pink, and decorated with lots of hearts:)
My mom would have loved these chocolaty cookies dotted with dried cherries and chocolate chips.
- 2 cups flour
- 2/3 cup baking cocoa
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 T vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2/3 cups dried cherries, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350
- Combine flour. cocoa, baking soda and salt in a small bowl
- Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl
- Beat with an electric mixer until creamy
- Add eggs, one at a time
- Beating well after each addition
- Gradually beat in the flour mixture
- Stir in dried cherries and chocolate chips
- Drop by well-rounded tablespoon onto
- Greased baking sheets
Bake for 11-13 minutes or
Until cookies are puffed and centers are set
Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes
Remove to wire racks to cool completely
