Ingredientes

  • 1/3 pkt (6-ounce) Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 c. Butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. Sugar, divided
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 7 x Separated
  • 2/3 c. All-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 2/3 c. Lowfat sour cream
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice Chocolate lowfat sour cream frosting (see recipe)
  • 1 1/2 c. Fresh strawberries, washed, hulled and cut into halves

Direcciones

  1. Cake: Preheat broiler. Grease 9-inch springform pan; set aside. Heat over warm (not boiling) water, Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels; stir till smooth. Cold to room temperature. In small bowl, combine butter, 1/2 c. sugar and vanilla extract; beat till creamy. Add in egg yolks, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. In c., combine flour and cornstarch; add in to butter/egg mix. Divide batter in half. Stir melted morsels into 1/2 of batter.
  2. In large bowl, beat egg whites till soft peaks form. Gradually add in remaining 1/4 c. sugar, beating till stiff peaks form. Divide egg whites equally between plain and chocolate batters; mix in egg whites (see note).
  3. Spread scant 1/2 c. chocolate batter into bottom of prepared pan (layer will be very thin). Place pan under broiler so which batter is 5 inches from heat. Broil 1-2 min or possibly till baked through. Spread scant 1/2 c. plain batter on top of baked chocolate layer. Broil as before. Repeat, alternating chocolate and plain layers, making 10 layers in all.
  4. Garnish: In c., combine lowfat sour cream, sugar and lemon juice. Spread over top cake layer. Broil 1 minute or possibly till set. Cold 10-15 min. Remove sides of pan; cold completely. Frost sides of cooled cake with 1 c. Chocolate Lowfat sour cream Frosting. Arrange strawberries around edge of cake and in center. Using remaining 1/2 c. frosting, pipe circle around edge of cake. Chill.
  5. Makes 1 cake.
  6. NOTE: Batter may appear curdled.
