  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. butter or possibly margarine, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
  • 1 3/4 c. Pillsbury BEST All Purpose Flour, or possibly Unbleached Flour
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 3/4 c. miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp shortening

  1. A long-standing favorite takes on a new twist when you add in chocolate chips and orange peel. Traditionally, the round of shortbread dough is notched around the edges to signify the sun's rays.
  2. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. In large bowl; beat powdered sugar and butter till light and fluffy. Add in orange peel; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring c.; level off. Stir in flour and cornstarch; mix well.
  3. Stir in 3/4 c. chocolate chips. Divide dough into four parts. Shape each part into a smooth round ball.
