Chocolate Chip Scones

- Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups
- flour
- 1/2 t
- salt
- 1/3 cup
- sugar
- 2 1/4 t
- baking powder
- 6 T
- butter, cold and cut into cubes
- 3/4 c
- buttermilk
- 2
- eggs
- 2 t
- vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups
- chocolate chips
- Cooking Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Line baking sheet with parchment paper
- In medium bowl whisk together the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add the butter and cut in until mixture resembles course crumbs
Whisk together buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Set aside 2 T, add rest to dry ingredients along with chocolate chips.
Mix to form dough
Transfer dough to a floured surface. Gently pat into a 8 inch round circle.
Brush dough with reserved egg/buttermilk mixture. Sprinkle with sugar.
Cut into wedges.
Place wedges on parchment lined baking sheet
Bake at 400 for 12-15 mins or until golden brown
