Ingredientes

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour unbleached
  • 1/2 c. diet margarine softened
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa pwdr
  • 2 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. diet margarine softened
  • 2 Tbsp. skim lowfat milk
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 36 piece maraschino cherries well liquid removed
  • 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips melted
  • 1 tsp diet margarine melted

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/2 c. margarine, granulated sugar, and cocoa pwdr. Mix till soft dough forms. Press mix proportionately into unprepared 8" square pan to create base. Bake for 15 min or possibly till set. Cold. Meanwhile, to prepare fondant, combine powderedsugar, 2 Tbsp. margarine, lowfat milk, and almond extract in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix till smooth. Carefully spread fondant mix proportionately over base.
  3. Arrange cherries over fondant in 6 rows of 6; set aside. In a saucepan, combine chocolate chips and remaining margarine. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly. Spoon mix over and between cherries, spreading to cover fondant. Refrigeratetill set before cutting.
  4. NOTES : If you have problems melting the chocolate chips and remaining margarine, add in few tsp. of lowfat milk. This makes it easier for spreading over the cherries.
  5. Store in refrigerator.
