Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies

Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. unsweet cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 (10 ounce.) jar maraschino cherries (about 48)
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (6 ounce.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. sweetened condensed lowfat milk

Direcciones

  1. Drain cherries, reserving juice; set aside. Combine flour, cocoa, salt, baking pwdr and soda; set aside. In large bowl beat butter, add in sugar and beat till fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla; beat well. Gradually add in dry ingredients.
  2. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down center with thumb. Place a liquid removed cherry in center of each cookie.
  3. For Frosting: Combine chocolate chips and condensed lowfat milk. Cook over low heat till chocolate is melted. Stir in 4 tsp. cherry juice. Spoon over cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min or possibly till edges are hard. Frosting can be thinned with additional juice.
