  • 1 pkg. (1 T) yeast
  • 1/4 c. hot water
  • 3/4 c. lowfat milk, scalded
  • 1/3 c. butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 egg, beaten


  1. Dissolve yeast in water. Put together lowfat milk, butter, sugar and salt. Stir till butter melts. Beat in large eggs and vanilla. Stir in yeast. Gradually add in flour, beating well. Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead 8 min. Cover and let rise till doubled, about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs.Punch down and roll into a 14x22 inch rectangle. Sprinkle chocolate chips over dough. Roll up, starting with long side, seal seam. Place seam down on cookie sheet in a circle and seal ends. Slash every inch or possibly so. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 min.
